Being the Pride of our Country!!!

“He is truly a genius”, “He is the pride of our country”, “He is a Prodigy”, “He is my Role Model” … He is Alla Rakha Rahman…!!!!

Yesterday, He was the first man to ever win a National Award for a debut album and today, He is the first Indian to ever win a Golden Globe Award and tomorrow, He will be the first Indian to ever win the Oscars…

“I am terrified”, “I felt on top of the world”, “Its Unbelievable”, “It is the victory for Indian music” are his remarks after winning this prestigious award.

It s been a while since I blogged. Even my last blog was all about him. But being his hardcore fan for more than 15 years now, how can I stop talking about The God of Music when he is going distance.

The world is dancing to his song “Jai Ho”.. World audience, who are not used to songs in their movies, are quite thrilled to see the ending of a movie with a song. That too, it s not just a song, it s a celebration of a victory. If I tell you something about the origination of this song, you are sure to get surprised and say “WOW”!!! Danny Boyle had some other song in his mind to play at the end during credits. It is Rahman, who said “I ll get you another song for this situation” and he came up with this Oscar nominated track “Jai Ho”. Doesn’t he deserve more than an Oscar!!! J
When asked him about the criticisms that are in the air now, he said “the movie is portraying poverty and it s still a big problem in India. We still have it, rather than finding a solution for that we are trying to hide the things to the outside world by criticising movies like this..” True… isn’t it!?!?

I ve got a lot of such stuffs to write about him.. But I know that I have to once again write about him once he receives the Oscars on Feb 22nd. I just want to hold my nerves till then…!!!
For time being, watch the whole world dancing to our Boss’ tunes at the following links. It’s a must-see,

The God of Music!!

Of course, its none other than A R Rahman!! What have I got to talk abt him here, is what you think.. Isnt it? This "highly-inspiring" celebrity is going distance and taking Indian Music to great heights. Needless to say! He is such a sensational star!

He is known for his unconventional rhythm, different genres of music and above all his humbleness.. and the list goes on and on.. This man is now rocking the world with his outstanding score for the latest flick "Slumdog Millionaire" (SDM) !! Most of you would have heard about this news and just dying to see the movie!!! I know..

I recently got to hear one of his podcast which was arranged by blogtalk.radio website and I want you guys to just listen to it. I am crazy abt this man. So, even if I am asked to talk abt this man or to listen to his music for a day or week, I d do it by all means!! My friends know it very well.. They even curse me for not closing the talk easily and I never mind those comments!! After all, this prodigy has done enough to make us Indians proud !!

As we enjoy his orchestral excellence in Yuvvraaj, we get a typical hindi song in Ghajini and now its one step ahead, he goes western!! I dont know how to understand the kind of creativity he has. He is a living legend at this young age.

Few excerpts from the podcast,

When asked him abt SDM BGM, he said initially he got to see the DVD and liked it. As he said that it took just 3 weeks to compose for the entire movie, he chuckled and said it was a record for his work..!!

Also, very recently he lost his audio engineer, H.Sridhar.. He mentioned that incident as "Unbearable" in a shivering voice and he said he is trying to move on from that shock. Together, they have created wonders.. Music lovers needs no introduction to their work.

And the more-than-one-hour long podcast had lot more surprises for ARR s fans. As the Americans laud abt his work on a hollywood movie, everyone of us would feel great and I just felt like someone s praising me. ;) I donno whats that bringing in me this ultimate happiness! Hats off to the God of Music!

And, here s the link... Hear to it and see to yourself where this little man has skyrocketed in his career + passion!!

The Way of Life!!

Dear Readers..

Do spend time on this, I m sure you would nod for each and every sentence of it.. :) Enjoy!!

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Where to start??

Okay, now that I ve decided to write a blog. But in these 25 years, I ve come across so many things which I want to relish all thru my life. So wondering now…. Where to start!!!!

I remember an old saying at this time “there are two ways of spreading light – to be a candle or a mirror that reflects it!!!” I believe in this statement and I am gonna try something new… why to simply have a blog which talks about nothing.. let me have a blog which can help someone out there!!! Idea is good, I know that. But let me see how I go about it!!!

Here I go!!!

This is gonna be my first blog ever. When I heard ppl saying refer my blog to know more abt me, I normally wonder what he/she is talking abt. Why shud I have to spend time there and know abt him/her… if its her may be at times its worth doing it otherwise.... !??!?! ;-)

Anyway, whenever a music album or a movie gets released, all the social websites will be flooded with links referring to various blog sites…. What is that ppl doing here… why do they want to post their opinion to the rest of the world. Who is gonna care what an individual thinks abt a particular thing?? These were my insights abt blogging till last week.

One fine day, I felt some change in my career and I started searching the website to know more about the other option I had. Ultimately I ended up seeking someone s advice in that regard. So, as my quest was going on, I landed up in someone s blog where she has put all the details that I needed for that particular thing. Oh man… it kept me thinking in fact…

I personally understand two things that you gain while blogging, one is you are maintaining your diary so that just go back and have a look at those pages, you ll always remember the days either its good or tough days, the memories stay there!! Another thing is your experience will definitely help someone to shape them or their career. Wow man.. that sounds interesting… above all, you can build your vocabulary and get betr in the usage of this foreign language which is highly appreciated in this competitive world!!

So considering all these reasons, here I go with my first blog!!!!!
